Reading Term 4 Something I learned was that the Moa is a relative of the Kiwis and Ostriches. Something I want to find out is why are female Moas bigger than males?

I put this picture up because I love to persevere with tennis and swimming.

My goal this term to persevere with is trying to get better with my backwards rolls because I need top practise a little more.

Term 3 reading

In reading we have been using the notability app to learn about our inquiry topic;planets.

First we photographed the text. Then we read it with our reading buddy. When we have finished reading,we highlighted words we didn't know or weren't sure about.

In class we talked about our highlighted ideas and worked out their meanings. Sometimes we did a word study or some research into one of the questions we came up with.

Here are some examples.

Something I did well was focused on my work.

Something I need to work on is making my letters a better colour and size so I can read it more clearly.

In inpuiry I studied the planet Saturn.

I presented my project to the class.

I did a diorama poster.

An interesting fact that I found out was that Saturn was named after the Roman god.

Something that I did well was I did the project by my self and did a good job.

Something that I would do differently next time is see if my group would like to do what I want to do.

W.A.L.T. Where sea creatures and plants live and how they adapted to their environment.

WALT use the Description bubble and our senses to make our descriptions more detailed.

Something I did well was doing my hardest work.

Something I am working on is thinking carefully on my Description.

WALT Read smoothly and to chunk unknown words.

Something I have improved on is my sounding out of words. Something I still need to work on is trying to read with my buddy.

Maths workshop Term1

In maths I am learning to use simple grids and maps to decide positions.

I can recognise compass points and get some of my coordinates right. I need to work on getting more of them right.

We are learning to understand why we have rules.

Personification is when you talk or write about an object as if it's a person.

Something I did well was my descriptions. Something I could improve is my spelling.

WALT:Use a variety of sentence length and types to make my writing more intreresting.

WALT:Use punctuation correctly at the beginning and end of sentences. 

I think I did a good sentence.

I'm still working on my punctuation.
